the GRIFFIN PLAYERS committee

The Griffin Players are a section of the Vauxhall Recreation Club whose constitution states that all sections should be governed by an annually elected committee of members consisting of four officers and eight members.

The committee is responsible for the day to day running of the group and also decides the forward programme.

VICE CHAIRMAN Richard Garrett	Richard has starred in, produced and directed a number of shows with the Griffin Players and other societies. He shares with us a wealth of knowledge whilst doing a lot of work with the production and publicity team for each show.
TREASURER Michael Costabile	Michael, being an accountant by trade, has brought a lot of knowledge to the Griffins in this, his second consecutive year as Treasurer. He puts in many hours to ensure that we have accurate accounts, and is always overjoyed to see a VAT receipt!
SECRETARY Lynda Fagan	Lynda was re-elected as secretary for her second year, continuing to do a wonderful job in what is always a difficult task. She has a long history of working in Theatre for the area, previously being a long standing member of Luton Light.
SOCIAL SECRETARY Debbie Cavanagh	Debbie has returned to serve on the committee this year. She has appeared in numerous shows both on stage and in production. After a fun packed year for the Griffins in 2007, she returns in 2008 to offer a great line up for our social scene.
MINUTE SECRETARY Jackie Houghton	Jackie is a long standing member of the group and has appeared in numerous productions. Jackie has been one of our resident choreographers for many years, currently working on our 2008 Panto, Beauty and the Beast.
PUBLICITY SECRETARY Liz Hale	Liz is one of our longest serving members of the Griffins and has a wealth of stage experience behind her. Liz does a great deal of work with our publicity. Liz last appeared on stage with the Griffins in our production of Cinderella in 2007.
COMMITTEE MEMBER Graham Elliott	Having worked on sound for a great number of Griffins shows, Graham has now agreed to join our committee. He brings with him a great knowledge about theatre and the technical side of productions. Graham is also our Production Manager for this years Adult Panto!
MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY Cheryl Evans	Cheryl first appeared in the Griffins as Wendy in our production of Peter Pan. An accomplished musician she used her talents in the Witches of Eastwick as Musical Director. This his her 3rd year in the role.
COMMITTEE MEMBER Ellie Kingdon	Ellie joined the Griffins in the show The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, however is also a very talented musician, who will be our Musical Director for Adult Panto in our jubillee year. This is her second year on the committee, and together with our designer, Dave Medcalf, she works hard to maintain our quality show programmes
COMMITTEE MEMBER Nicola Bird	Nicola rejoins the committee for the second half of this year. Nicola has starred in Griffins shows for too many years to mention, most recently appearing in the childrens panto, Beauty and the Beast.
COMMITTEE MEMBER Ben Jaggers	Ben joined the Griffins only a very short time ago, but has already appeared in many productions and is now in his second year on the Griffin Players committee. Ben is currently busy at Pantomime rehearsals, but will often be found clearing out the Griffins shed!
COMMITTEE MEMBER Sam Cooke	In joining the committee this year, Sam jumped right in at the deep end as production manager for the 2008 panto, and is already doing a fabulous job at keeping the team on their toes!
SUB-COMMITTEES These play an important part in the running of the group and can be made up of committee members and ordinary group members. If you would like to serve on a sub-committee please contact the chairman.
